Sanskrit for kids the past Summer

Dear friends, please find attached short video clip of how we helped kids (aged 6) become more proficient in reading/writing in Sanskrit (Devanagari) the past Summer. We used Bhagavad-gita verses as the reading material and as a side effect kids effortlessly memorized the chapters we covered.

To prepare the mood for upcoming Gita Jayanthi, we as a family sit together and read the shlokas and translations every day. Due to the exposure to Sanskrit, kids are very eager for the sessions.

Please watch this video carefully if you want to know the process we followed.

Hare Krishna!

Next Generation Kirtaniyas

One of the elements of the “Nitai Nimai Summer Camp 2019” was attending the afternoon aarthi at the temple. Seeing that no one is there to sing, Divya mtj (Vinamra’s mom) encouraged the kids to take turns and sing. Our lordships Sri Sri Radha NilaMadhava known for their merciful nature kindly allowed these 6 year olds to sing for them and accepted their devotion.

These kids are normally very shy – though they would sing at home while playing, taking bath etc., especially if we ask them to sing in front of others, they become very self-conscious and refuse to do

Discussion on “Karma” with 6 year olds

After hearing about the recent incident of how a local devotee was gun shot in his convenient store, our curious 6-year-old kids started asking following questions:

Nrsimha-Krsna dasa: When Krsna’s devotee is good, why somebody killed him like that.

Father: Everybody has to face reactions to bad things they did previously, that is how material nature works. See for example, sometimes you pinch Maharathi and remember that day nobody did anything, you were playing and you hit against the pillar, got a cut on the head and it started bleeding. That is how reactions come. Everybody has to face his or her

Frustration or Fulfillment

Our frustration in this world mainly comes due to unfulfilled desires or that we did not get as much happiness as we expected. We all know there is a factor of “Karma” which determines whether our desires will be fulfilled and Lord Krsna in Bhagavad Gita clearly tells this material happiness is temporary and not truly satisfying as we are actually not these bodies.

Therefore, what hope do we have then, while we are in these

Seeing Krishna everywhere

Speaker: HDG Srila Prabhupada
Source: Expert at everything

“Actually, there is nothing but Krishna all around us. This is explained in the Gita. He is the taste of water, the light of the moon, the fragrance of the flower, the light of the sun, the sound in the sky, the power of the strong, and so on. So one who is actually making progress in Krishna consciousness, he can see Krishna everywhere. At any stage of life, who can avoid the sunlight, the moonlight, the fragrance of the flower, the taste of the water, the sound of the sky,

Expert at everything

Speaker: HG Shyamasundar prabhu

Expert at everything. That was Prabhupada. Shyamasundar: Once we were in Mayapur. We had an old—I think it was a 1948 Hudson or some old, big car. And I was driving. We had left the main road. If you have been on the main road you know how bad it is. You can imagine how bad this secondary road was like. We were going to visit Lalit Prasad, who was Bhaktisiddhanta’s living brother, who was a very old man then. We didn’t know the road, and we didn’t know the way

Secret of success

Speaker: Srila Prabhupada
Source: SB 3.23.7

In his previous life, Nārada was a maidservant’s son, but his mother was engaged in the service of great devotees. He got the opportunity to serve the devotees, and simply by eating the remnants of their foodstuff and carrying out their orders he became so elevated that in his next life he became the great personality Nārada. For spiritual achievement the easiest path is to take shelter of a bona fide spiritual master and to serve him with heart and soul. That is the secret of success. As stated by Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura

Krishna only accepts love and affection

Krishna will only accept an offering that is made with love and affection. One incident that shows this took place in Hastinapura. It is well known that Arjuna and his four brothers were Krishna’s very dear friends and devotees. Duryodhana, who also lived in Hastinapura, was the sworn enemy of Arjuna and his brothers(later they fought each other at the Battle of Kurushetra), but he wanted to invite Krishna to a feast.

Duryodhana was very wealthy, so he served preparations of delicious foodstuffs such as ladu, pera, kachori, sandesh and
